Retreat Terms & Cancellation Policy

We invest careful planning and logistics to create great trips and workshops; provide an excellent experience to our participants; and honor relationships of integrity with our hotels, staff, collaborators and other suppliers. Retreats are limited to a small group size for a personal, intimate experience. Our deposit, cancellation, and supplement policies are designed to accommodate the needs of all involved: our guests, our suppliers, and ours.

Please read and understand our cancellation policies. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including but not limited to weather, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemics, personal, family, or medical emergencies.

Trip Cancellation & Travel Insurance

We highly recommend that you purchase traveler’s insurance to cover your trip costs should you or your family have an unexpected issue or medical problem prior to your retreat that prevents you from attending, or during your retreat, as well as to provide medical coverage. IMPORTANT NOTE: Some travel insurance companies require you to purchase your policy within 14 days of booking your retreat. Others don’t have this stipulation.

Please read this further information on travel insurance and why we highly recommend it. You are responsible for purchasing your own travel insurance and for understanding the policy coverage you select.

Deposits & Payments

Registering for a trip requires a $900 deposit payable online with all major credit cards by secure means on our website, or by Zelle. For most retreats, the remaining amount due must be paid by 90 days prior to the start of the retreat, unless otherwise specified on your specific retreat’s booking information—whichever date comes first.

Please note we reserve the right to treat your reservation as canceled if your final payment is not made when due.

If you sign up for a trip 90 days or less before the departure date, the full trip price is due with registration, payable by secure means on our website. Please contact if you have any questions.

• If the retreat has to be postponed due to government border closure then a credit for your deposit will be given to be used for the rescheduled retreat the following year.

• If the retreat runs as scheduled, but you decide not to attend based on any reason, then the regular cancellation policy (detailed below) applies.

All Retreats and Workshops Cancellation Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are transferable to another participant, if found and assigned by the original participant (minus a $150 re-booking fee).

All fees paid (minus deposit) are refundable up to 91 days before start of event, if we are able to fill your spot AND the retreat sells out, minus any unrecoverable costs.

This policy is firm. Please do not ask us to make exceptions. We put logistics in motion based on you signing up: we assign guides and other supporting staff, we reserve vehicles, accommodations, and pre-pay activities, most (or all) of which costs are not recoverable by us.

Remember, you have the option to get travel insurance, and if you choose not to purchase this, you are taking a risk. We reserve the right to cancel a retreat/workshop but in this case you will receive a full refund of any and all fees paid to Julia Ingersoll Retreats. Julia Ingersoll Retreats is not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation for any canceled or postponed trips, such as airline tickets, or for costs that are incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations or illness.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance to protect your investment and your health and well-being. We recommend that you purchase your trip insurance at the time you book your retreat or enroll in your course, as some (but not all) insurance companies require your policy be purchased within 14 days of booking. Be sure you understand the coverage provided by the policy you select. Please read more about travel insurance here and suggested websites.

Event cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel a retreat with inadequate participant interest. In the unlikely event the program must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, all payments made to Julia Ingersoll Retreats will be refunded. We reserve the right to cancel departures in cases of force majeure or the failure of third parties—such as hotels—to honor their reservations. In these cases, you will be refunded your trip price, less any nonrecoverable costs. Should a natural disaster result in the cancellation of your Julia Ingersoll Retreats trip, you can choose to reschedule your trip for a future date or 100% of your funds will be placed on account for a future trip. Julia Ingersoll Retreats and Julia Ingersoll are not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation for any canceled or postponed trips, such as airline tickets, or for costs that are incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations or illness.

• Julia Ingersoll Retreats can not be held responsible for any personal expenses such as travel expenditures, due to cancellation or changes in itinerary.  In the case of event cancellation per above, a refund of all payments received by Julia Ingersoll Retreats shall constitute full and final settlement.
