Provence is a country to which I am always returning, next week, next year, any day now, as soon as I can get on a train.
— Elizabeth David

Our home for the week is the beautiful Mas de Grangeneuve on Domaine Saint Jacques, between the villages of Méthamis and Blauvac, in the department of Vaucluse, France. Located in the heart of authentic Provence, 40 minutes drive east of Avignon, 1 hour north of Marseille.

Special note for wine fans: The famous vineyards of Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise are a bike-ride away, and a short drive takes you to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Address: Mas de Grangeneuve – Domaine Saint Jacques, 510 Chemin du Devencet, Blauvac, 84570, France.

Closest Airports:

Paris CDG is the most common and  simplest solution for most. Fly to Paris, enjoy a visit, then take the TGV (high-speed) train to Avignon.

Marseille MRS is another option for an airport.

Paris is always a good idea.

Closest train station is Avignon TGV.

We will schedule a group transfer from the Avignon Gare TGV to the villa, about 45 minutes drive, when we know the timing.

If you are not arriving together as a group, we will schedule a taxi for you to the villa as needed.

Train from Paris: You can take the high-speed TGV train to Avignon directly from the Paris airport, or from Gare de Lyon in the city. It is about 3:30 to Avignon by train.

Important Dates to Know for Travel: (please read)

The retreat starts on Saturday, May 19. Check in time at villa is 4pm on. (our first meal of the retreat will be aperitif and dinner on Saturday)

The retreat ends on Saturday, May 26. Check out time is 11am. We will end with breakfast and morning yoga. If you have an early departure from Avignon TGV, a driver can be scheduled.

•If your schedule allows, ideally you could spend at least a day or two to enjoy Paris, (and acclimate to the time zone) before catching the train to Avignon.

•It is possible to synch your arrival at the Paris airport with a TGV to Avignon on the same day – but be sure to plan plenty of time for collecting luggage, clearing customs, and getting to your train – I'd allow at least 2 hours minimum.

•Another option is to spend your first night in historic Avignon, to acclimate, and visit the Palais des Papes before meeting up on Saturday.

•More details on transferring to and from the villa from  Avignon Gare TGV will be provided as we get closer.

Booking TGV train tickets – a few important notes:

• You can check schedules and book your own tickets on the official site here: Book Train Tickets

• Tickets are not available to book until within 3 months of travel, so you might have to wait a little. Pas de problème.

• Let me know if you need assistance with anything.
